Exxon made a record $11 billion dollar profit last quarter while gasoline and heating costs for Americans skyrocketed. And our tax dollars still subsidize the oil industry. Why? As your Representative, I will fight to end taxpayer subsidies for big oil. I will support a tax on billion dollar windfall profits, and use that money toward funding development of clean, safe, renewable energy sources. Experts say this will create millions of green collar jobs, decrease our dependence on foreign oil, and minimize greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to global warming. Safe, clean energy, more jobs for Americans, and less dependence on foreign oil... It’s just common sense! |
